2010-2011 Charitable Donation Recipients

On Wednesday, September 21, 2011,  a check was presented to The David Lytle Memorial Foundation for charitable funds raised during the 2010-2011 membership year.  Our club is deeply moved by this organization and all that they represent and we take great pride in being able to offer our support.

Echoes in the Walls

Westfield Township resident, Katrina Morgan, has published her first book entitled, Echoes in the Walls. A hilarious and true story of their family's amazing journey to find happiness in a dilapidated, crumbling farmhouse in Medina County. Tired of chasing after what society labels success, they sell  a new home in an upscale neighborhood, to follow an old dream of renovating a century plus home in the country. Somehow, they are able to look past the crumbing state of the house.  There are no working bathrooms, the doors are hanging off hinges, windows are broken, graffiti artists have sprayed their messages across walls, and Mother Nature has moved inside. Instead, the couple sees the house finished and inviting. They imagine the work will be romantic and fun. It was anything but, as they hit one obstacle after another; raccoons in a bedroom, a colony of bats in the attic, bones in the basement, ominous strangers, injuries, tempers and a harrowing ninety day time frame.

The author hopes to inspire readers to re-evaluate their own dreams and take a chance on change. Because the story takes place in Medina County, local residents will connect on many levels.

Katrina Morgan, and the Medina County Women's Club are hosting a book signing event on March 25th.  This casual, fun event is open to the community and will run from 7-10 p.m. at Cana Martini Bar, located south of historic Medina Square. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Spring Break begins that afternoon, what better way to start the week than in a casual environment full of laughter and fun?

The newly published book, Echoes in the Walls, will be available for purchase at Cana (cash or check only please) and the author will be signing copies. (Purchase is not required to attend.) A portion of the proceeds will go to the David Lytle Foundation; an organization raising funds and awareness for individuals living with spinal cord injuries.   Their motto, "If you can't stand up, Stand out!" is a motivational message for all.

If unable to attend the event, signed book copies can be reserved.   It is also available at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Kindle, and Nook.
